A Great Weekend

September 30, 2012

What an exciting weekend for Greencastle and DePauw. Coinciding with the grand opening of Eli’s (the new college bookstore on the square) and Starbucks, Parents weekend could not have been better. It was a case of perfect weather and more things to do than could possibly be done by one person–and the School of Music was involved in almost all of it. The saxophone quartet played some great sets at Eli’s; the Into the Woods cast did a shortened show for kids and families in Moore before the full show performance that night and Sunday afternoon; The chamber singers did a popup concert in Starbucks; numerous instrumentalists presented a recital in the new spaces downtown; a great variety of singers showed their talents in the bookstore to an adoring crowd; the jazz ensemble never sounded better than it did playing for the picnic in front of the GCPA and the jazz combo was fantastic at Eli’s. DePauw is clearly an exciting place to be…
